Planetary Postcards

I picked up these wonderful postcards at Out of this World a fantastic Science-Fiction exhibition at The British Library....

From Jules Verne, The Moon Voyage 1876

Cover of sheet music for A Signal from Mars a march and a two step inspired by the interception of radio signals believed to have come from Mars.
Illustration by Frank R Paul of Life on Mercury from Fantastic Adventures 1939.
The postcard says Mercury, being dangerously near the Sun, is a planet of terrific heat. Life, says science, can only exist in insect form.

Cover of Across the Zodiac by Edwin Pallander, 1896
